Description
An 18k gold vermeil frame (American, 20th century) retailed by Tiffany & Co., NY. The frame contains a c.1921 black & white studio photograph of Consuelo Fair Vanderbilt (1903-2011), the daughter of William K. Vanderbilt II and Virginia Fair. Consuelo is depicted seated against a daisy embroidered voile curtain backdrop, a vase of daises placed to her left. She wears a daisy-embroidered lace day dress, a strand of pearls around her neck, and she holds a summer hat on her lap. The rectangular frame has an easel stand and mahogany back, the top of the frame is inscribed "1-7-96" at center and is stamped on the bottom "TIFFANY & CO 18725 MAKERS 3337 18K."
