Description
A SMALL GILT BRONZE TRAVELING CLOCK (French, late 19th - early 20th century) produced by Circle Watch Co. with Swiss works by Hebdomas. The rectangular case has a top loop handle and stem for winding the clock movement. The exterior sides are decorated with floral designs and small circular scenes in relief. The scene on the back mimics Botticelli’s "Birth of Venus." The case stands on four bronze feet. The white dial is marked with roman numerals, gilt minute markers and gold leaves. Above the exposed balance it is signed "8 DAYS / SWISS MADE / HEBDOMAS." The underside of the clock case is stamped "CIRCLE WATCH CORP / Made in France."
