Description
A PAIR OF LOUIS XV STYLE ORMOLU CANDELABRA (French, 19th century) with three spiral foliate arms. The central support of the candelabra is topped with a curling leaf finial and ends in a circular base. As the 19th century progressed simplicity and elegant ornament were replaced by elaborate decoration giving way to a kind of Neo-Rococo inspired by 18th century French goldsmiths.
