Description
A LOUIS XV STYLE GILT BRONZE MOUNTED BUREAU PLAT AND CARTONNIER (French, 19th century) attributed to the retailer Masion Boudet, Paris. The body is decorated with tulipwood marquetry and bronze dore mounts. The shaped table is set with a leather writing surface. The attached cartonnier is topped with the bronze figure of a cupid, set with a French clock, and contains eight graduated drawers. The drawers are covered with tooled leather and foliate bronze pulls. The table has two shallow side drawers, a curved apron, and stands on four cabriole legs ending in paw shaped sabots. The knees are set with ornate bronze dore mounts shaped like female busts.
