Description
TWO 12-BRANCH CANDELABRA (French, late 19th century) from the workshop of Jules Allard and Sons, mounted on either side of the mantelpiece (PSNC.14511) in Alva Vanderbilt’s bedroom at Marble House. The bronze dore candelabra are shaped like classical female figures holding aloft cornucopias from which sprout curling foliate candle arms. All twelve lights are wired for electricity.
