A PAIR OF LARGE ANDIRONS (French, 19th century) by Bouhon Frères of Paris. Done in a 17th century style, the matching ormolu andirons stand on four scrolled legs ornamented with foliage. The base is encircled with shells suspended from ribbons and ram head masks festooned with foliate swags. The upper section is in the form of a tapered quadrangular column with concave sides decorated with foliage and inverted torches.
