A LATE VICTORIAN BEDSTEAD AND CANOPY (English, c. 1890) painted in the manner of Angelica Kauffman (1741-1807). The rectangular headboard has a caned oval panel with a satinwood insert depicting women and children in classical attire at center. Surrounding the panel is a painted crest rail decorated with floral garlands and a basket of flowers, on the sides is a pair of urn-shaped finials supported on turned stiles that end in acanthus leaves. The footboard is designed in a similar manner, but its crest rail has floral garlands and a classical urn. The bedstead is accented with dark-green painted borders.
