Description
A MANTELPIECE (French, 1891) from the workshop of Jules Allard et ses Fils, Paris, composed of marble with bronze decoration, installed in the Gold Room/Ballroom of Marble House. Along the top center of the mantel is a raised mask of Bacchus, below is a floral garland. The two bronze figures on the corners (PSNC.447.1-.2) represent Old Age and Youth.
