A LOUIS XVI STYLE PARLOR SUITE (French, 20th century) composed of two matching armchairs and a settee. The wooden frames of the chairs and settee are painted white and carved with foliate decoration. The open armchairs have medallion backs, padded arms, and stand on four fluted legs. The arch-back settee has closed arms and stands on four fluted legs. All three pieces are upholstered in an uncut pile fabric, creating a needlepoint effect, patterned with blue and white ceramics and floral motifs on a beige ground. Related to PSNC.8418.4-.5, these were originally part of the same set but are upholstered in a different fabric. This parlor suite is originally from the drawing room of the Morris residence at 1015 Park Ave, NY.
