Description
A POLE SCREEN (English, mid-19th century) composed of ebonized wood, with adhered paper cut-outs and polychrome & gilt painted decoration. The shaped screen depicts two parrots and an array of flowers, the reverse depicts a gilt peacock on a flowering branch. The pole is adjustable and is surrounded by a basket towards the base. It stands on three cabriole legs with hoof feet and casters.
