Description
AN ART POTTERY PITCHER-VASE (English, late 19th century) by W. T. Copeland and Sons, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. The opening rim is painted gold and has a Greek key incised design. The body has a white/pink ground with raised decorations depicting an exotic bird, a dragon in gold, and a cherry blossom tree in gold, pink, and green. The dragon wraps all the way around the pitcher and the handle is made to look like a twisted tree trunk. The underside is marked "Copyright / Reserved / Copeland" and "Y 73" is impressed below this.
