Description
A BARBOTINE ART POTTERY JARDINIERE (French, 19th century). The jardiniere is bowl shaped, glazed dark brown, and has a scalloped rim. One side of the rim is higher than the other, the higher side has raised pink and yellow roses. The interior of the bowl is splattered with light brown and cream colors and decorated with a single painted pink flower and green leaves. The overall style of the bowl is Impressionistic, and its design is reflective of the Montigny-sur-Loing region of France.
