THREE-PIECE TEA SET (American, 19th century) consisting of a teapot (.1), a covered sugar dish (.2ab), and a large creamer (.3). Each is decorated with bands of flowers and foliage, sits on four foliate legs with claw-and-ball feet, and is engraved with the initials "GAR" (for Gwendolen Armstrong Rives, 1911-1971).
.1= A silver teapot by A. Rumrill & Co. (New York, NY 1869-1878), has a swan-neck spout, a lid with floral relief details that is topped with a bouquet finial, and a C-scroll handle with ivory insulators. It is stamped "A. Rumrill & Co." on the bottom.
.2ab= A silver covered sugar dish by John Crawford (American, active 1815-1841). The lid is decorated with floral relief details and is topped with a bouquet finial. It has two scrolled handles (one on each side). It is stamped "J. Crawford" on the bottom.
.3= A large silver creamer by John Crawford (American, active 1815-1841).The rim has a floral border, there is a floral band around the center of the body, and there is a single scrolled and detailed handle on the sided. It is stamped "J. Crawford" on the bottom.
