Untitled Watercolor Landscape of Danskammer-on-Hudson

A WATERCOLOR LANDSCAPE OF DANSKAMMER-ON-HUDSON, NEWBURGH, NY (American. August 2, 1895) by Edward Maitland Armstrong (American, 1874-1915). The view is of the west bank of the Hudson, showing the river in the foreground behind a windswept tree trunk, and mountains behind hills on the opposite bank. It appears it took Armstrong three and a half hours to complete this watercolor, written on the bottom right corner in pencil is "Time 3 ½ Hours." It is signed and dated by the artist on the bottom left corner. Danskammer-on-Hudson was the Armstrong family’s country estate.
