TWO OVAL PORCELAIN MONTEITHS (French, 1766) by the Sèvres Porcelain Manufactory, bearing fluted sides and scalloped edges, the bodies are decorated with polychrome flower sprays. The underside is marked with the Sèvres maker’s mark of two interlaced L's, this encloses an "N" to represent the year 1766, above this is a "J" for the decorator Jubin, and below is a gold star for the gilder Bienfait.
