AN EIGHT-PIECE LADY'S TRAVELLING TOILETRY SET (English, early 20th century) retailed by Cross, London. The set is comprised of a leather case (.1) monogrammed "M.E.B." with a compartmented interior holding: a mirror (.2), a shoehorn (.3), a nail file (.4), a buttonhook (.5), a clothes brush (.6), a hair brush (.7), and a hair comb (.8). The different tools are made of bone and bear the interlaced black-lined script monogram "MEB" (for Mary Elizabeth Brayton).
