Description
A CARDBOARD HATBOX BY BROOKS BROTHERS (English, c. 1940) TOGETHER WITH FOUR, LEATHER RIMMED, GENTLEMAN'S HATS. The oval hatbox is blue with yellow trim around the top of the lid. The lid is stamped at center with the Brooks Brother insignia in gold. The hat on the left perched on the hat stand was manufactured by Herbert Johnson, New Bond St., London for Brooks Brothers. The hat on the right hat stand was manufactured by Lock & Co. Hatters, St. Jame's Street, London for Brooks Brothers. The hat with the braided brim on the right was manufactured by P & C HaBig of Vienna for Brooks Brothers, while the hat on the lower left bears a paper label reading "Brooks Brothers/New York" on the interior rim.
