Description
AN AMERICAN CHIPPENDALE MAHOGANY CARD TABLE (Newport, c. 1780) attributed to Thomas Townsend (1742-1827). The top is decorated with a serpentine front and sides, squared corners, and a conforming flat top surface above a shaped apron. The whole table is supported on four straight square legs, each accented on two sides with stop fluting.
