The Bear, one of 80 sculptured trees and shrubs featured in the famous topiary gardens of the late Miss Alice Brayton started by Thomas Brayton around 1880. There are formal flower beds, fruit and vegetable gardens, a pet cemetery and Victorian toy museum opened to visitors under the auspices of The Preservation Society of Newport. Admission charge.
