Printed note on verso reads "Overall Gardens, Green Animals, Cory's Lane off Route 114, Portsmouth, R.I. These famous animal topiary gardens, considered to be the best in this country, were started by Thomas Brayton around 1880. There are 80 sculpted trees and shrubs, formal flower beds, fruit and vegetable gardens, a pet cemetery and Victorian toy museum opened to visitors under the auspices of The Preservation Society of Newport.
