Photograph of the Children's Cottage on the grounds of the original Breakers estate, designed by Peabody and Stearns for Pierre Lorillard IV. The estate was purchased by Cornelius Vanderbilt II in 1885, though the main house was lost to fire in 1892. The Children's Cottage survived the fire, as it was separate from the main house. It is still on the property today.
