Photograph of eighteenth-century Venetian paintings in situ in an unidentified interior. The paintings shown in the photograph are original to The Elms and since have been returned there, after being sold during the 1962 auction. The smaller, overdoor paintings are part of a series of six paintings depicting events related to the Corner family. The large painting in the center of the image is one of a series of four Roman History paintings depicting the life of Scipio Africanus, the Roman General who conquered the North African City of Carthage in 203 B.C.
