PORTRAIT OF MR. HENRY O. HAVEMEYER (American, early-mid 20th century) by the Swiss-born American painter Adolf Felix Müller-Ury (1862-1947). The subject, Henry O. Havemeyer (1876-1965), is depicted seated with a red book in his hand. He wears a black suit and holds his right hand to his chin as he gazes to the left in a thoughtful pose. He was the husband of Charlotte Whiting Havemeyer (1880-1962), the pair resided at Friedheim on Harrison Avenue, in Newport, in addition to a home in Mahwah, NJ.
