ONE OIL ON CANVAS PORTRAIT OF MRS. ELINOR DORRANCE HILL INGERSOLL standing in front of seascape. She was an heiress to Campbell Soups and daughter of Dr. John T. Dorrance, a chemist, who invented condensed soup in 1897 at age 24 and turned the Campbell Co., a small company named for a fruit merchant, into one of the great American brands. Painted by Channing Hare, American, (1899-1976) in 1956.
