One framed and matted watercolor portrait of Alletta Morris MacDonald by Elizabeth Shoumatoff (Russian-American, 1888-1980). The cream mat has a circular cut-out through which the painting can be viewed. The sitter is shown from the shoulders up, wearing a cream draped garment accented with a blue brooch in the shape of a sea shell. She has wavy, ear-length blonde hair and green eyes and is wearing pearl earrings.
