AN UNFINISHED OIL ON IVORY MINIATURE PORTRAIT OF A SCOTTISH LADY (American 1777-1807) by Edward Greene Malbone, unsigned. Painted in London, England 1801. The subject's head is shown almost profile to the left, eyes to the left, and dark brown hair mostly covered with a white kerchief. Her eyes are very large and brown, her complexion is fair, and her dress is white and unfinished below neck. The background is also unfinished. Oval in rectangular pressed paper frame set in black wood frame with brass bevel.
