Long thin, one alphabet sequence, many nice borders, verse is difficult to understand, done all in cross stitch. Verse reads, "Run thou/Christ's race/be sw/ift like to the sun/have not thy work/to do when time is done May the 9." Signed: "Hannah/Hoockey her sampl/er made in the seve/nth year of my/age 1728." Sampler made in Newport, RI, silk thread on linen. Sampler is currently framed.
