A studio photographic portrait depicting Marian G. Dowling, who is seen wearing spectacles, a white dress with ruffles on its bodice and hem, and a bow. She appears to be holding a diploma or other rolled document. Dowling was a classmate of Sarah Priscilla Bryant Chase, and later became a music teacher. Photograph by H.W. Rankin & Co. of Newport. Note on reverse reads: "Wishing dear Priscilla many happy returns of the day. Marion G. Dowling Feb. 26, 1901. Class Mate of Sarah Priscilla Bryant Chase [Penelope Chase Bryan's mother]".
