Photograph that is part of black and white photo essay depicting the restoration of the Chinese Tea House at Marble House. The essay is entitled "Newport's Chinese Tea House: Before and after-a story of neglect and restoration." The first set of photos show the building "in it's [sic] prime" . The photograph pictured here (second in the series) shows the Tea House in use, circa late 1940s-early 1950s. Women and a girl are shown drinkong tea while seated on caned chairs around small tables. Interior features include a hardwood floor, a wooden framed ceiling, and elaborate paneling with Chinese characters.
