Description
A sepia tone photograph of the Aquidneck Mill (1865) and Newport Steam Mill, located on Thames Street. The Aquidneck Mill(1865) is seen at foreground; it has detailed woodwork along its roofline, and is made of brick. The Steam Mill (1831) is located behind the Aquidneck Mill. It is made of stone, has three stories of 24-pane windows, and a tower with a wooden cupola. Both buildings are located along Howard Wharf. A sign outside the buildings (in the shape of a horseshoe) reads "Brophy-O'Rourke."
